Official Picture

Here is the "official" group picture. Preppies at Mayo. The flags in the background are of all the schools represented. The building in the far background is the Main Building of the college.

MG

There was a car show at the beginning of the opening ceremony. This was one of the cars, a 1951 MG TD. I had a similar one when I was 16, but it was yellow.

Arrival at Mayo

After a 2.5 hour drive that took 4 hours, we are finally at the fantasy land that is the campus of Mayo College, Ajmer.

Central Palace, Jaipur

Here we are in the "Courtyard of the Beloved" in the Central Place of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The painted doorways are astonishing.

Loaded on the bus for a tour of Delhi, and lining up to see the Qutb Complex at Mehrauli, the site of the first Muslim center in Inda.
Hey all! Technology problems last night at the hotel, so I could not update the blog. We are off to Argra this morning. More tonight. All is well.

A day in Delhi

On our first night, we were treated to a welcome buffet dinner at the hotel in Delhi. A Deli Dinner?

Chadwick in India

Hello all: We could not have asked for a smoother set of parts connecting to the whole. I have never seen LAX so deserted; there were virtually no lines at any of the checkpoints. Our flight departed on time and was smooth and uneventful. We had time to spare to make the connection in Newark and lunched at the New Jersey Diner. The leg to Delhi was packed and slow to load, but the entertainment center provided unlimited movies on demand, so we all pigged out on movies as we winged our way across the Atlantic, over northern Scandinavia, Moscow, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan before our 1 hours early arrival in Dehli. Immigration, Health, and Customs were painless, and we were greeted by our Tour Guide, Abhishek, who herded us all to our waiting bus and whisked us away to the hotel. My earlier aprehensions about the Hotel seem to be unfounded. Check was efficient, and we had a lovely buffet of Indian foods. The rooms are plain but adequate. By 11:00 all the chicklets were in their nests for the night.
Tomorrow we have a leisurely morning while we wait for the other schools who are touring with us to arrive. There will be a full afternoon of touristy touring.
I'll try to update tomorrow night.
Namaste!
